How to get a quote

As per G.O. Rt.No.1697/2003/H.Edn dated 27-11-2003 all Government departments, Autonomous Institutions under Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities and Local bodies can entrust their printing works with Kerala State Centre for Advanced Printing & Training and its sub centres over and above the capacity of Government Presses without inviting quotations at the approved rates.

Print production is complex in nature. The size, type, thickness and quality will vary from paper to ink and mill to vendor. The production planning unit of the centre will assist you to get an estimate/rate for your printing requirement. If required our customer relation staff wil meet you and discuss with your needs.

Provide following details, before asking an estimate/rate

Type of Publication: Speecify whether the publication is Book, Magazine, Brochure, Leaflet, Certificate, Question Paper, Letterhead, Envelope, Coupon, Ticket etc.. 
Quantity: 
Specify the number required. 
Size: The size of a specific book or paper is measured from the head to tail of the spine, and from edge to edge across the covers. Various size are derived from the number of leaves created from a standard size sheet of paper (48 cm x 64 cm; 19" x 25") when each signature of the book is printed.
Orientation: A book that binds on the long edge is called vertical or portrait format, while a book that binds on the short edge is called horizontal or landscape format.
Binding style: Hardcover, Sewing through the fold, Comb, Spiral, Perfect, Sewn, Saddle-stitching (Stapling through the centre fold), etc.
Inner paper: The thickness of paper is often measured by the caliper, which is typically given in thousandths of an inch. Paper may be between 0.07 millimetres (0.0028 in) and 0.18 millimetres (0.0071 in) thick. Normally used paper are Maplitho, Creamwove, Art paper, Chrome Art paper, Ledger paper, Color bond, Parchment paper, Pulp card, Gum sheet, Color card etc..
Cover material: Variety of cover material are available. Normally used cover material are Cover paper, Art paper, Art card, Plastic sheets, Cloth, Leather etc.. Specify whether Lamination (Matt or Glossy) is required or not. 
Availability of all of these can be dependent on market conditions. Since some of them are imported, and others have to be sourced from major mills of paper dealers, even though sufficient quantities of commonly used papers are always stocked by us.
Number of colours: Specify the number of colours in the inner sheets and cover material
Delivery: Specify whether delivery of the finished product is required or not. Provide details of locations, if delivery required 
Schedule: Schedules will vary according to the nature of work. If your material is ready, the production planning unit can work out a tentative schedule for the production with you.
Special requirements: Special requirements such as packing in sealed cover, delivery of materials in covered vehicle, confidential printing or any other requirements that you may have an implication in the final costs for your project should be discussed with the production planning team at the time of preparation of the quote.
